GAVI EPI LMC: Cameroon

Context

While there has been a slight improvement in Cameroon’s immunization coverage across key indicators from 2019 to 2022, challenges persist in the program’s performance due to issues such as stockouts, insecurity, and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Five major factors contributing to the slow progress in immunization coverage (suboptimal governance and coordination, insufficient human resources, poor service delivery coordination, poor data quality/management, and funds unavailability).

In response, GAVI has committed to supporting Cameroon in identifying gaps and enhancing the EPI leadership, management, and coordination through the strategic use of data between 2023 and 2025

Project objective

To support Cameroon in diagnosing gaps, enhancing EPI governance, and building local partnerships for skills transfer through the strategic use of data between 2024 and 2025
